Background

Having been a fitness class regular for a number of years, I was inspired by my own instructors to train to teach exercise classes. Having worked with children in Primary School for years, I was fortunate to have had plenty of experience of telling a group of people what to do...

The main difference between being a Nursery Nurse and a Fitness Instructor is that the class members are there because they want to gain something from the session (whereas most school children know everything already!) People come to my fitness classes for all sorts of reasons. There are the obvious driving forces like losing weight, toning up and improving fitness, but people also come along to de-stress, increase self-confidence, make new friends and above all to have fun.

My belief

EXERCISE IS MEANT TO BE FUN! There is something for everyone, regardless of age, gender, size, shape or ability. Everyone has the potential to make health and fitness gains and I'm right there beside you to help you identify and achieve your own personal goals.

My teaching

I believe in keeping my class members thinking, so no two classes are ever exactly the same. There is enough similarity to enable members to follow routines, yet there is always a little something to keep people on their toes and to get the old grey matter ticking over, preventing boredom! Your body soon becomes accustomed to doing the same thing week in week out, so keep it guessing!

"If you get it right, that's fantastic. If you get it DIFFERENT that's fantastic too!"
This is a quote I heard from an international fitness presenter years ago and it's so true!

Many people put off going to fitness classes as they are afraid they won't be able to follow complicated routines.

I believe in delivering simple routines which can be followed by anyone, gradually building them up so that my class members have the confidence to let the routine develop. Within my classes there is a vast range of abilities, yet everyone is able to perform their own individual version of the exercises, working within their own capabilities.

My philosophy

If you are not enjoying it then dont do it! During my time in the fitness industry I have discovered that best results are achieved when you are having fun, so come along, enjoy the music, you might even feel inclined to sing and dance!
